Appletree Nursery Terms and Conditions
Admissions
Once you have decided to place your child into Appletree Nursery, you need to complete the application and consent forms and return them to the nursery along with a £20 non-refundable registration fee.
We operate the nursery on very strict first come, first served basis. Once your child's name is on the waiting list, we will keep to that order and offer you sessions as they become available.
We require one month's written notice of your child leaving the nursery.
The nursery is open throughout the year with the exception of Bank Holidays and one week over the Christmas holiday period, 51 weeks.
Appletree Nursery operates three types of contract: Term-Time Only, Full-Year and Holiday Contracts.
Payment of Fees
You enter into a contract with the Nursery when a starting date is agreed. Your agreement to our terms and conditions is legally binding.
Fees for all pre-booked sessions are due on or before the first attendance day of the month and are payable in advance. Please be prompt.
Cheques are payable to Appletree Early Years Ltd. In the event of a cheque being represented or returned by your bank, an additional fee of £25 to cover any charges will be imposed.
In the event of missed days due to sickness or any other reason fees will not be refunded.
After 30 days any outstanding fees will be passed onto a Collections Agency. As well as any outstanding fees you will become liable for any costs incurred and interest will be charged at a rate of 5% per month as long as the account remains unpaid. If necessary, Court action will follow to recoup any money owed with the addition of any court costs. Your nursery place will also be suspended awaiting payment.
Government funding is available to all eligible children. The Government funding is currently for up to 5, 2 ½ hour sessions per week for 38 weeks per year. You will be asked to sign a form at the nursery to claim your voucher sessions.
Opening Times
The Nursery is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm. Planned closure days will be notified in advance.
The Nursery will close for approximately one week over the Christmas/New Year period.
When the Nursery has scheduled closures there is no charge for sessions booked on those days. However, unplanned closure for circumstances beyond our control cannot be refunded, but alternative sessions will be sought for you if possible.
Accidents & Sickness
The Nursery should be informed before 8:30am if your child will not be attending due to sickness.
We reserve the right to administer basic first aid and treatment where necessary. Parents will be informed of all accidents and will be required to sign an accident form.
Please do not send your child to Nursery if they are unwell. If your child is unwell please keep them at home until your Doctor confirms that any risks of infection have gone. In the case of sickness this would be a period of 48 hours after the last attack.
The Nursery reserves the right to request that children be collected if it is felt in any way that they are not well enough to attend.
The Nursery cannot administer medicines unless requested by Parents on the appropriate form and only if they have been prescribed by a Doctor and clearly labelled as such.
Please advise us of any infectious ailment. If necessary all parents will be informed via the notice board.
Holidays
We require a minimum of 4 weeks written notification of holiday absence. During holiday periods, there is a 50% reduction in fees. However, without the required notification, holidays taken during your contracted sessions will charged at the full rate.
Child Collection
We will only allow your child to leave with an appointed person unless you have informed us otherwise and completed the necessary documentation. We will require evidence of the person's identity on arrival at the Nursery and an agreed password may be asked for.
It is important that your child is collected promptly at the agreed time. Please contact the Nursery if you know you are going to be late.
If you are late collecting your child we reserve the right to charge an extra fee of £3.00 for every 15 minutes. This is necessary both as a deterrent and also to pay extra staff to stay on and look after your child.
Behaviour & Conduct
The staff at Appletree will at all times maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards children, parents, carers and other staff. We will not tolerate staff being spoken to in an abusive or threatening manner by parents, carers or children. Such behaviour may result in the termination of a nursery place.
We will support parents/carers in managing children's disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, but we may require children to be withdrawn if the nursery manager and owner considers this appropriate.
Liability
We accept no responsibility for children whilst in their parent's care on nursery premises, i.e. prior to arrival or after pick up.
We will make reasonable endeavours to keep parents and/or children's property in good order. Liability for damage of such property is excluded except where caused by our negligence.
