Our Garden
We are very proud of our outdoor space at Appletree. Many children prefer to learn outdoors so we make sure they can access this space whenever they choose offering them 'free flow' between the inside and outside.
We also have access to the large school field and the Children's Centre garden.
The garden is an area that we value as a really fun and interesting place to learn. The garden has many areas where the children can explore, from the digging bed to the wildlife area or the sandpit and the hammock. There are spaces for vigorous activity and spaces to sit with friends and chat like our wig wam and willow dome. The garden is also home to our guinea pigs Brownie and Cookie, Salt the rabbit and our 4 chickens. The children enjoy helping to care for all the animals.
The garden evolves as we see what the children like to do in it, and we enjoy it rain or shine, so wellies and waterproofs are a must!
